Research interests: My key research interests comprise institutional economics, development economics and political economy. Within the European Union, I am particularly interested in the interconnections between institutions and economic structural factors at national and subnational level, and in understanding the different “institutional environments” that complement European policies, thereby leading to diversified outcomes in economic performance and inclusiveness of socio-economic progress.
Maria Luigia Segnana

Research interests: My main research fields are microeconomics of trade and firms behavior in open economies. With regard to European Union, I have been interested in linking the development of global value chains within the multilateral trading system with a focus on Italian firms. My recent research interests have been devoted to managerial quality in new member countries of Central Europe. Today, work in progress relates to corruption and innovation in European and non European countries.
